The Tanzania Meteorological Authority in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) convened for the Fifth Meeting of the Systematic Observations Financing Facility (SOFF) Project Technical Coordination Committee (PTCC-5) at Morena Hotel in Dodoma.
The meetin
g brought together Members of the PTCC and key experts to deliberate on the implementation progress of the SOFF project and to discuss strategic priorities for implementation of the project in 2026 aimed at ensuring efficiency in the implementation of project activities.
The agenda of the meeting focused more on the implementation of the approved 2026 SOFF Project Annual Workplan, project monitoring report, as well as planned monitoring, communication and outreach activities for 2026. The committee also strategized on the implementation of decisions and directives by the SOFF Project Steering Committee (PSC), which were given by the PSC at the 3rd meeting held on 9th April 2026.
Speaking during the opening session, the PTCC Co-Chairs, Dr. Paschal Waniha and Dr. Abbas Kitogo from TMA and UNDP respectively, emphasized the importance of continued effective collaboration to ensure timely implementation of all planned SOFF project activities.
Also the PTCC-5 meeting concluded with a shared commitment among PTCC members to strengthen coordination, accelerate the implementation of planned activities, and enhance the overall effectiveness of the SOFF project in Tanzania
