Tanzania Meteorological Agency (TMA) organized a stakeholder’s workshop
on the National Framework
for Climate Services (NFCS) which was held on 10th February, 2017. The workshop was organized as part of
implementation of the Global Framework for Climate Services (GFCS) programme in Tanzania
known as “Climate Services Adaptation Programme in Africa on Building Resilience
in Disaster Risk Management, Food Security, Nutrition and Health”.
The main objective of the workshop was
to share the progress in the preparation of the NFCS to stakeholders and
solicit more inputs and comments for its improvement. It was attended by 45
participants from government, non-governmental organizations, Academia and UN
Agencies, of which 30 were males and 15 were females. Out of the 60
participants, 17 were youth and 28 were senior experts.
The workshop was officially opened
at 9.30 AM by the Guest of Honour, the Director General of TMA and Permanent Representative with WMO, Dr. Agnes Kijazi.
