TAARIFA ZISIZO ZA KWELI ZA UWEPO WA MVUA KUBWA NA UPEPO MKALI KATIKA MAENEO YA DAR ES SALAAM, PWANI, TANGA, UNGUJA NA MTWARA

Mamlaka ya Hali ya Hewa Tanzania inawatahadharisha wananchi kuhusu taarifa inayosambazwa kwenye mitandao ya Kijamii inayohusu uwepo wa upepo mkali utakao vuma kwa kasi ya km 123.7 kwa saa na mvua kubwa kwa siku ya tarehe 29/08/2015 kuanzia saa 7 mchana.
Taarifa hii si ya kweli na kuwa Mamlaka ya Hali ya Hewa (TMA) haijatoa TAHADHARI hiyo.
Utabiri sahihi wa kesho tarehe 29/08/2015 katika maeneo hayo ni kama ifuatavyo: Mvua nyepesi zinatarajiwa katika baadhi ya maeneo hayo( Dar es Salaam, Pwani,Morogoro, Tanga, Visiwa vya Unguja na Pemba). Upepo unatarajiwa kuvuma kwa kasi ya wastani wa kilometa 30 kwa saa katika pwani ya kaskazini( Dar es Salaam, Pwani, Tanga pamoja na Visiwa vya Unguja na Pemba) na kwa kasi ya kilometa 20 kwa saa katika pwani ya kusini(Mtwara).

TANZANIA DEPUTY MINISTER FOR TRANSPORT APPLAUDS THE GREATER HORN OF AFRICA METEOROLOGISTS.



The Tanzanian Deputy Minister for Transport, Hon. Dr. Charles Tizeba, applauds the Greater Horn of Africa and Eastern Africa Meteorologists for the provision of Climate Early Warning for Early Action when officiating the opening of the Forty First Greater Horn of Africa Regional Climate Outlook Forum (GHACOF-41) at Kunduchi Beach Hotel – Dar es salaam, Tanzania, on 24th August 2015.


We appreciate and value the Regional Climate Outlook Forum (RCOF’s) goals of improving technical capacity of providers and users of weather and climate information to enhance the inputs and use of climate monitoring and forecasting products”, said Dr.Tizeba. 

The Tanzania Meteorological Agency (TMA) Director General Dr. Agnes Kijazi used the opportunity to express her gratitude for Tanzania to be entrusted to host this important forum. “on behalf of TMA I would like to thank IGAD Climate Prediction and Application Center (ICPAC) and Great Horn Of Africa (GHA) National Meteorological and Hydrological Services (NMHSs), World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and other partners for organizing this Forty First Greater Horn Of Africa Climate Outlook Forum (GHACOF 41) here at Kunduchi Beach Hotel in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, It is a great honor”. She said.

The Forum was an interactive event that brought together climate information users, experts from critical socio-economic sectors, governmental and non-governmental organisations, decision-makers, climate scientists, civil society stakeholders among others. The forum reviewed the implications of the key climate factors expected to influence the evolution of the regional climate during the September to December, 2015 rainfall season. The likely impacts of the current developing El NiƱo event over equatorial eastern Pacific Ocean that is predicted to persist during the rest of 2015 and into early 2016 is among the climate system expected to influence the September to December 2015 rain season.  Much of the Great Horn of African Countries are expected to experience enhanced rainfall. 

Users of climate information who participated in GHACOF 41 were drawn from various sectors including agriculture and food security, disaster risk management, water resources, health, media as well as non-governmental organisations and development partners. The participants provided sector specific assessment of the usefulness of the previous regional consensus climate outlook, the current regional climate outlook and formulated sector specific mitigation strategies based on the consensus regional climate outlook for the September to December 2015 rainfall season.

The forum was sponsored by the United Nation Development Program (UNDP), IGAD Climate Prediction and Application Center (ICPAC) and hosted by Tanzania Meteorological Agency (TMA).

Naibu Waziri wa Uchukuzi, Mheshimiwa Dkt. Charles Tizeba, amewapongeza wataalamu wa hali ya hewa kutoka Pembe ya Afrika na Afrika Mashariki kwa kazi nzuri wanayoifanya ya kuboresha taarifa za hali ya hewa. Mhe. Dkt. Tizeba alisema hayo wakati akifungua rasmi mkutano wa Arobaini na Moja wa Jukwaa la Wataalam wa Hali ya Hewa kutoka nchi za Pembe ya Afrika (Greater Horn of Africa Climate Outlook Forum – GHACOF-41) uliofanyika Dar es Salaam, Tanzania katika hoteli ya Kunduchi tarehe 24 - 25 Agosti 2015.


“Tunathamini na kutambua mchango unaotolewa na Jukwaa la Kikanda la Hali ya Hewa katika  kuboresha na kujengea uwezo wa taasisi za hali ya hewa, wadau na watumiaji wa taaarifa za hali ya hewa ili kuongeza ubora na matumizi sahihi ya taaarifa hizo katika shughuli mbalimbali za kiuchumi na kijamiialisema Dkt.Tizeba. 

Aidha, Mkurugenzi Mkuu wa Mamlaka ya Hali ya Hewa (TMA) Dkt. Agnes Kijazi alitoa shukrani zake za dhati kwa Tanzania kupewa jukumu la kuwa mwenyeji wa mkutano huo. “Napenda kuchukua nafasi hii kuwashukuru Kituo cha kutoa taarifa za Hali ya Hewa katika Ukanda wa Pembe ya Afrika pamoja na Afrika Mashariki (IGAD Climate prediction and Application Center (ICPAC)) kwa kushirikiana na Taasisi zinazosimamia huduma za Hali ya Hewa katika ukanda huu, Shirika la Hali ya Hewa Duniani (WMO) na wadau wengine wa maendeleo kwa kuandaa Mkutano huu muhimu katika hoteli ya Kunduchi Beach, Dar es Salaam, ni heshima kubwa sana kwetu”. alisema Dkt. Kijazi. 

Mkutano huu wa majadiliano uliwaleta pamoja watumiaji na wataalamu wa huduma za hali ya hewa katika sekta muhimu za kiuchumi na kijamii kutoka kwenye taasisi za serikali na zisizo za kiserikali, watoa maamuzi, wanasayansi na wadau kutoka Asasi za Kiraia. Mkutano ulifanya mapitio ya viashiria vinavyotarajiwa kuathiri mwenendo wa mifumo ya hali ya hewa katika kipindi cha msimu wa mvua kwa mwezi Septemba hadi Disemba, 2015. Aidha, ilibainishwa kuwa kuwepo kwa El Nino ni miongoni mwa viashiria vinavyotarajiwa kuchangia kwa kiasi kikubwa hali ya mvua katika msimu huu. Maeneo mengi ya ukanda wa Pembe ya Afrika na Afrika Mashariki yanatarajiwa kuwa na mvua nyingi isipokuwa kwa baadhi ya maeneo machache.



Watumiaji na wadau waliohudhuria mkutano huo kutoka katika sekta za Kilimo na Usalama wa Chakula, Afya, Habari, Taasisi za Uratibu wa Maafa, Maji pamoja na wadau wa maendeleo walijadli na kuweka mikakati mbalimbali ya kutumia taarifa ya  utabiri wa hali ya hewa iliyotolewa na kupunguza athari mbaya zinazoweza kujitokeza katika sekta zao.



Mkutano huu umedhaminiwa na kuandaliwa na Shirika la Maendeleo Duniani (UNDP), Taasisi ya matumizi ya huduma za hali ya hewa (ICPAC) na Mamlaka ya Hali ya Hewa Tanzania (TMA) akiwa mwenyeji wa mkutano huo.
